FMV-GAME · Bangkok, Thailand · Full-time
Video Editor
About the role
Project Type: Live-Action Interactive Movie Game (FMV) Genre: Sci-Fi Mystery / Urban Drama Location: Bangkok, Thailand / Remote Collaboration Role Objective: We are seeking a professional Video Editor who combines cinematic pacing with game engineering awareness. Due to the unique nature of FMV games, video editing extends beyond linear scene cutting—it involves assembling complex non-linear interactive decision points. You will ensure millisecond-level seamless transitions when players make choices and deliver natural idle loops during waiting periods.
Responsibilities
Non-Linear Editing & Node Assembly: Oversee rough and fine cuts, narrative pacing, and seamless node assembly across complex branching trees. Precision-edit decision nodes, QTE success/failure outcomes, POV angle shifts, and waiting loops to maintain unbroken visual flow. Cross-Departmental Technical Compliance: Collaborate closely with programmers and engine integration engineers to export footage according to game engine specs (e.g., Unreal Engine / Unity) regarding codecs, frame rates, bitrates, resolutions, and precise frame-accurate timecode marking. DIT Footage Management & Version Control: Establish and maintain a rigorous multi-branch media asset management system. Systematically classify and version-tag massive footage volumes across branching paths and multiple endings. Post-Production Pipeline Coordination: Hand off fine-cut timelines (via AAF/XML) to colorists, VFX artists, and sound designers. Perform final quality assurance (QA) checks prior to engine integration.
Requirements
Professional Background: Bachelor’s degree or above in Film Editing, Directing, Digital Media, or related fields. 3+ years of professional video editing experience in feature films, TV series, premium web dramas, or commercial campaigns (TVCs). Software Mastery: Proficiency in industry-standard NLE software (e.g., Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro) with strong logical organization skills to handle complex non-linear timeline projects. Frame-Accurate Precision: Keen sensitivity to visual continuity and camera motion. Frame-level control to eliminate jump cuts, lighting pops, or movement stutters across branching shot transitions in the same scene. Technical AV Standards: Solid grasp of video codecs (H.264/H.265, ProRes, DNxHR), frame-rate conversions, timecodes, and loss-free export specifications, alongside a basic understanding of game engine video playback mechanisms. Attention to Detail & Stress Tolerance: High patience and rigorous logic when handling intricate branching assets under tight post-production schedules and multiple iteration passes.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior post-production editing and node-building experience on released FMV games, interactive series, or VR narrative projects. Competency in DaVinci Resolve color grading or basic Fusion / After Effects compositing and cleanup (e.g., object removal, green screen keying). Familiarity with Unreal Engine / Unity video playback components (e.g., Media Player / Sequencer) or node mapping tools like Twine or Articy:draft. Gamer mindset with a deep understanding of interactive branching cut pacing in titles like The Invisible Guardian, Detroit: Become Human, Late Shift, or Her Story.
Application Requirements
Required Submissions: Curriculum Vitae (CV): Details on background, project list, and your specific roles in each project. Editing Showreel: A video reel demonstrating narrative pacing, shot continuity, and emotional tension (please provide online streaming links or drive download links). Optional Supplementary Materials: Case studies or workflow breakdowns from past multi-branch interactive editing projects. Video samples featuring seamless idle loops or seamless action cuts. How to Apply: Please package all materials and send to:[HagemiHR@gmail.com] Subject line format: [FMV Editor Application] Full Name - Phone Number - Expected Salary
